Commentary on the San Francisco Giants in specific, and MLB in general. Sometimes amusing, always opinionated, and most importantly, low on carbs. Kansas City Royals and poker-related stuff thrown in for sake of confusion.

Barrett Sox Pierzynski
Those guys at McCovey Chronicles sure know how to motivate a guy to be creative.
One of the things I love about baseball is what a bloodless sport it is. It's usually far more thoughtful and strategic than visceral and action-oriented. Its slow pace and largely casual movements make it possible to follow everything, almost in slow motion. On a hot day in the park, under the influence of beer, that's the way to watch a competition.
That said, I think I took more pleasure from watching Michael Barrett clock A.J. Pierzsomethingski than anything else I've seen in a game this year. If Barrett had hit anyone else, I'd have felt a bit outraged at the brutish lapse of judgement. But since it was A.J., everything's ok. Hope it hurt.
